GBPJPY closed short

I closed my short of GBPJPY at 144.67. Which including the previous cycling of the trade makes it a profitable trade.

I also closed my CHFJPY trade at 113.696 which makes it a profitable trade as well.

I was completely at peace during these trades.

The meditation I focused on during these trades was a picture of the ocean.  Large calming waves covered in small ripples of water.  I made sure that I identified with the large, calm and consistent waves and not with the small ripples that texture the surface.

Management of trade #1 GBPJPY

I took profit on half of my GBPJPY short at 144.402 and then added back that amount short at 144.654.

A close above 145.776 or a run to 146.239 would signal, to me, a lack of harmony between the 120SMA and the 14SMA, until then I will cycle in and out of profitable areas or just take profit at 143.752.

There is harmony in my mind and on the chart, no dischord and no discomfort.

I would like to say that position sizing is critical to having this kind of clarity and harmony.

A GBP/JPY trade to kick things off.

I would like to kick this blog off with an example of a trade and the meditation which accompanied it.   My approach to trading is based in meditation and I feel is fairly unique.  This blog is here to share with others in the hopes that many people can improve their thought life and in turn, possibly their trading as well.

I think people can agree that they would prefer harmony in their mind and trading as opposed to dischord.  So over the weekend I meditated on harmony.  I spent three sessions of 15 minutes meditating on harmony.  I also spent an hour moving through historical hourly charts looking for entries and exits where both the 14 SMA (simple moving average) and the 120 SMA were in harmony.

The markets have opened up and after a couple hours of observation I can see that GBP/JPY has a harmonized descending 14 and 120 SMA.    If they are still harmonious when it turns 7pm here in the Washington DC area I will enter a short position and remain short until I hit the lower bollinger band or until the chart has a closing bar which de-harmonizes the SMAs.

Best to you,
Ryan
